NEW Aircraft Rental Procedures

Effective April 28, 2015

Members and Associates who rent aircraft from the Brampton Flying Club (Brampton Flight Centre or BFC), will be asked to provide information on their flying qualifications, currency and history. The information that the club will require is very similar to what insurance companies ask pilots to provide to insure their own aircraft.

The “Rental Pilot Record Form is now available to download and print from the BFC website  Rental Pilot Record 1 or to pick up from our dispatch counter.

If you plan to rent BFC aircraft in future, please fill in the requested information on the Rental Pilot Record Form, sign the form, and return it to the Duty Manager (DM) at the BFC dispatch counter.

The DM will file the record in our filing system. The forms will then be available to our instructing staff to ensure currency in advance of rental flights and to update refresher training. A high level of pilot information confidentiality will be maintained.

We want to give our members and staff enough time to become familiar with this new requirement, along with the additional documentation, before it is a pre-requisite to rent BFC aircraft. We are working towards improving efficiency and service and we don’t want any new procedure to slow down the sign out of an aircraft. However, please note the following date.

Effective June 30, 2015

A completed Rental Pilot Record Form will be a pre-requisite for renting an aircraft at the BFC.

The BFC Board of Directors has endorsed changes to Rental Pilot protocols as a function of it’s due diligence responsibilities. We hope that everyone will view the upcoming changes as positive and an opportunity to learn, enhance new skills and ultimately become better and safer pilots.
