Brampton-Caledon Airport Improvements ~ Sept 17 to Nov 30, 2018

The NOTAM’s are still in effect for Alpha and the main apron as follows:

Most of the construction has now been completed with the exception of the retaining wall by Hangar 3 and the asphalt. The weather for November has been colder than usual, along with the snow. We now have a very small window of opportunity to put the asphalt down.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2018 MAY BE THE DAY THAT THE FINAL LAYER OF ASPHALT WILL BE PUT DOWN ON ALPHA TAXIWAY AND THE MAIN RAMP. IF THAT HAPPENS, THERE MAY BE DELAYS FOR AIRCRAFT USING THE AIRPORT AND THERE MAY BE A PERIOD OF TIME THAT THE RUNWAYS WILL BE CLOSED AS THE PAVERS MOVE OVER RUNWAY 33. A NOTAM will be issued as soon as the decision is made and it is totally dependent on weather.
It is still anticipated that the construction work will be completed by the end of November.
The following is an overview of the work that is being done. Updates will follow, as they are confirmed.

BRAMPTON FLYING CLUB APRON AND ALPHA TAXIWAY REHABILITATION
Phase 1 & 2 ~ Alpha Taxiway
Stage one has been completed. The taxiway is useable but the sides need soil and grading and a final layer of asphalt is still required on Alpha taxiway.
Phase 3 ~ Access Road Limit of Construction
Phase 4 ~ Pavement Restoration Adjacent to Hangars
The work schedule for this phase has been changed.
This will be the general direction for aircraft to taxi to the fuel pumps.
Phase 5, 6, and 7 ~ Construction of the Apron Expansion, Apron Culvert Replacement, Culvert Replacement and Access Restoration
During this period of construction there will be access to hangars 1, 2 and 3.
Phase 8 ~ Pulverization and Repaving of Apron
In this final phase drainage infrastructure will be completed. New aircraft tie-downs will be installed. The contractor will have 24 hours to put a final coat of asphalt down on the whole ramp surface, in front of hangar 3 and entranceway to ramp. Fences, gates and disturbed areas will be restored.
The flight operations team will do everything possible to ensure flights and training proceed smoothly. We do not anticipate more than 2 and possibly 3 days of no flying possible. The closure period will depend on weather and on unexpected findings during construction.
