Dear Members, Associates and Staff, We have just been informed of a positive COVID test case for a person who was recently at our facility. This individual received a positive test result on January 7, 2021. This person was last at the Club on December 29th from 1415 to 1800 and spent the entire time only in the Air Cadet building. The person’s previous presence at the flight school was more than 2 weeks ago. Based on our social distancing requirements, the limited interaction that the individual had with employees and other associates/students, and the need to wear a mask when in our facilities, we feel that if you were at the flight school during these times, you would be classified either as a transient interaction or non-close contact risk level per Table 1 in https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/health-professionals/interim-guidance-cases-contacts.html and therefore are asked to: Self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days following your last potential contact timeFollow core personal public health practices (Appendix 2) recommended for the entire population https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/health-professionals/interim-guidance-cases-contacts.html#appex2 Avoid close contact with individuals at higher risk for severe illness (non-close contact risk level) Health and Safety remain our highest priority and for this reason those most likely to have been in contact with the individual have already been contacted directly. Keeping in line with our COVID procedures we have closed off the Air Cadet building for enhanced cleaning and disinfecting. As a reminder, if you do not feel well or are uncertain about whether you should be coming into the flight school, please feel free to cancel your flight(s). You will not be charged a no-show fee if you are feeling unwell. As a reminder, in order to ensure that our records are accurate for situations like this, it is imperative that you only come into the flight school when you have a scheduled appointment in Wingman, arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time and that you abide by all of our policies and procedures.
