COVID Positive Test. Confirmed January 11, 2021

We have just been informed of a positive COVID test case for a staff member who was recently at our facility. This individual received a positive test result on January 11, 2021.
This individual was last at the Club on January 7th from 1145 to 1630 and flew in a couple of our airplanes, which have since been thoroughly disinfected. The individual was previously at the flight school on January 5th from 0700 to 1500.
Based on information that we received from the individual and by reviewing our attendance records, we have contacted everyone who was in close contact with the individual and have informed them that they will be barred from our facility for 14 days from Jan 7th, or until they get a negative COVID-19 test result. In addition, all others who were likely to have been in non-close contact with the individual have been informed.
Due to our social distancing requirements, and the need to wear a mask when in our facilities, we feel that if you were at the flight school during these times and have not been contacted by us, you would be classified either as a transient interaction or non-close contact risk level per Table 1 in https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/health-professionals/interim-guidance-cases-contacts.html and therefore are asked to:

As a reminder, if you do not feel well or are uncertain about whether you should be coming into the flight school, please feel free to cancel your flight(s). You will not be charged a no-show fee if you are feeling unwell.
As a reminder, in order to ensure that our records are accurate for situations like this, it is imperative that you only come into the flight school when you have a scheduled appointment in Wingman, arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time and that you abide by all of our policies and procedures.

We also recommend that you download the COVID Alert app https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/covid-alert.html and use this app as a way to be notified of any close contacts that may occur in the future.
Please be assured that we are following all the safety protocols that we developed using guidance from the Government and other sources in order to keep everyone safe. We appreciate your assistance in keeping our aviation community safe.
