Operational Restrictions *September 1, 2021

September 1, 2021

Hi Everyone,

We have just received a communication from the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario mandating COVID-19 vaccinations at all Private Career Colleges such as BFC, effective Sept 7, 2021. We therefore will require everyone who works or flies at Brampton Flight Centre to provide:

·     proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (where full means that the second shot was at least 14 days ago), or
·     written proof of a medical reason, provided by a physician that sets out i) a documented medical reason for not being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and ii) the effective time-period for the medical reason.

If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including those who have a medical reason), you will be required to submit to a regular antigen or molecular test for COVID-19 and demonstrate a negative result within the past seven days prior to your attendance at BFC. Please note that we expect that by the end of October everyone without a medical exemption who attends our flight school to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of Sept 7, 2021, when you arrive for your flight, you will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show a government issued valid photo ID to the dispatcher. If you provide proof of full vaccination, your name will added to a list and you shouldn’t be asked again on future visits to BFC.
If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or you have a medical exemption, you will be asked to provide proof of a negative antigen or molecular test within the past seven days. You will also be provided with some educational material about COVID-19 vaccines as mandated by the provincial government. If you are unable to provide proof of a negative test, we will be unable to honour your booking and you will be asked to leave the premises until such time as you have a negative test result or are fully vaccinated.

Please note that the cost of antigen or molecular tests is the responsibility of the individual.

We realize that these new requirements are being implemented on very short notice and that those of you who are not yet fully vaccinated will have to do a number of antigen or molecular tests in the interim but this is the timeline that the provincial government has mandated that we follow in order to remain open for business.

Thanks and stay safe,

Allan Paige
