Brampton Flight Centre annual Airport Day

Sunday, September 11, 2022, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

13691 McLaughlin Road, Caledon

Caledon, Ontario – August 17, 2022 – The Brampton Flight Centre (BFC) and the Great War Flying Museum (GWFM) are excited to welcome back visitors and aviation enthusiasts to their annual Airport Day on Sunday, September 11, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Brampton-Caledon Airport.

This family-friendly event promotes the education and wonder of aviation through hands-on activities and exhibits with flight instructors and pilots providing lots of information about the Centre’s training programs, flight camps for kids and air cadets.

Visitors can also check out the newly renovated Great War Flying Museum, home to Canada’s most significant collection of Canadian WWI combat aircraft and artefacts. Military enactments enrich the experience, and there will be bi-plane and tri-plane fly-bys every half hour starting at 11:00 am.

Airport Day will also celebrate BFC’s recent induction into Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame. Earlier this year, the Centre received the Belt of Orion Award of Excellence for its 75-plus-year contributions to advancing Canadian aviation. Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson will officially recognize this honour.

Festivities start at 10 am and include airplane rides, airport tour wagon rides, antique cars, musical entertainment, birds of prey, trackless train rides, face painting, a BBQ and much more. Parking for the day is complimentary.

Entry to the Great War Museum is $10 per adult, and children under 12 are free or $20.00 for a family (up to 4 paying adults). Cash or e-Transfer only. Proceeds support the charitable organization’s critical work of preserving Canadian WWI aircraft and history.

The Brampton Flight Centre is owned and operated by the Brampton Flying Club, a not-for-profit organization. The Club was formed in 1946 and relocated to Caledon in 1969. The Flight Centre is an internationally recognized flight training school and produces many of Canada’s top pilots.
