Scheduling Your Exam Appointment with Transport Canada
If you are ready to write your written, you can contact Transport Canada directly through their website to book your written at any one of their offices.

You MUST have your Letter of Recommend before you can book your appointment. Although they try to accommodate all applicants as soon as possible, the timeframe may vary based on availability and demand.

Eligibility/ What To Bring To Your Exam – without these documents, you won’t be allowed to write the exam and you won’t receive a refund. Each exam has specific eligibility criteria that must be met before the exam may be taken, such as:
– Letter of recommend from your Flight Instructor (validity of 60 days)
– Valid medical certificate
– Valid photo ID
– Proof of payment
– Proof of flight experience (Logbook or PTR)
– Proof of recommending instructor (recommending instructor of written exam)

Exam Materials Required & Allowed
– E6B / CX2 / CX3
– Douglas protractor
– Navigation ruler
– Pens/Pencils
– Non programmable calculator

Additional Information

– Test conducted on computer
– Results provided immediately following exam

Partially Passed Exams
If you received a pass mark on the overall exam but fail one or more mandatory subject areas, you’ll be evaluated as a partial pass and must rewrite the failed section or sections of the exam. You will be provided in writing what your eligibility date will be to re-write. A written statement signed by a qualified person (your Instructor) certifying that you have received additional training is required (a new Letter of Recommend)

You must rewrite the failed section(s) within 24 months following the date of the application for a permit, licence or rating. If this date has passed, you’ll need to rewrite the exam in its entirety.
