Awards

Below are the Awards presented at the Brampton Flying Club’s Annual Wings Banquet.

The R.A.A. Award is presented annually to the Youngest Pilot who has graduated in the previous year.

The Bonnie Rampulla Trophy is awarded annually to the Top Female Private Pilot who has the highest average score, based on the Flight Test Mark and the Written Examination Mark within the previous year.

The Top Private Pilot Graduate Trophy is awarded annually to the Pilot who has the highest average score, based on the Flight Test Mark and the Written Examination Mark within the previous year.

The Charter Members Trophy was created by the original Charter Members to encourage advanced training.  It is awarded annually to the Top Commercial Pilot who has the highest average score, based on the Flight Test Mark and the Written Examination Mark within the previous year.

The Ryan Sumere Memorial Fund was created to recognize pilot/student with an outstanding effort learning to fly or upgrading skills with a passion for aviation at the Brampton Flying Club.

The Rick Wynott Aviation Memorial Award was created to recognize the Commercial pilot/student with an outstanding effort learning to fly or upgrading skills with a passion for aviation at the Brampton Flying Club.

The Porter Star Award is a peer-nominated monetary award presented by Porter Airlines to an IATPL graduate. Porter Star Award recipients will also receive a First Officer Interview with Porter Airlines.

The Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism is presented by Jazz Airlines and recognizes outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism. It offers a full-time student an opportunity to participate in the Jazz Aviation Pathway Program selection process.  

The Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity is presented by Jazz Airlines and recognizes outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism by a full-time student; who has self-identified as aboriginal, a person with a disability, a visible minority or female. It offers an opportunity to participate in the Jazz Aviation Pathway Program selection process. 

The Sunwing Uplift Award, presented by Sunwing Airlines, will offer 2 (two) IATPL graduates $1000.00 per candidate to be used toward flight training expenses. This scholarship would be paired with an opportunity to participate in the Sunwing Cadet selection process. Scholarship recipients

The Bud Young Trophy was created to honour Bud Young, the first CFI of the Brampton Flying Club.  It is awarded annually to the Flying Club’s Top Flight Instructor.
