College Program Admission Information

Applications for the July 2026 intake have now closed. Applications for our July 2027 intake will open in January 2027 until Mid-March 2027.

International student admissions are currently paused.

College Admission Qualifications

To be admitted to the College Program candidates must:

  • Be a minimum of 17 years of age at the start of the program and 18 by completion of the program (as per Transport Canada and career college regulations)
  • Have achieved a minimum education standard of high school graduation. High school graduates must have a minimum of 1 university/college level grade 12 math course and a minimum of 1 university/college level grade 12 physics course. (Note: admission preference is given to applicants who have completed university or college level high school courses).
  • Have successfully qualified for a Transport Canada Category 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Have completed a minimum of 0.5 hours flight training and a maximum of PPL. An introductory flight meets this requirement

  • IELTS academic score of 7 or higher for International students or if a Permanent Resident pass the ALPD test. No further testing would be required for Canadian citizens who have done high school or higher school in Canada.
  • International applications close 3 months before the start of the program due to Immigration delays

Admission Process

There are three steps involved in the admission process:

1) Pay for application fee. Retain order # to submit your online application.

  • Pay the College Application Fee HERE
    • Please submit only one application payment and one application for our Professional Pilot Programs. Apply to either the IATPL Program or the College Program, selecting your preferred program at the time of application.

      Do not submit multiple applications or payments. If your preference changes, you may request to switch programs prior to the start of training, subject to availability and program requirements.

2) Submit online application (application form will be embedded below when the application window is open)

  • Photocopy of your VALID passport
  • Photocopy of your Transport Canada Category 1 Aviation Medical http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/saf-sec-sur/2/came-meac/l.aspx (photocopy required however in order to arrange your interview, verbal confirmation will suffice)
  • Transcripts from current or past educational institutions, High school graduates must have a minimum of 1 university/college level grade 12 math course and a minimum of 1 university/college level grade 12 physics course.
  • Two current letters of reference (2025/2026) (preferably from present or former teachers/employers or flight instructors)
  • Current resume
  • A personal narrative
    • 2-3 pages, single-spaced, Calibri Font Size 12
    • Outlines your career plans in the field of aviation (include your thoughts on types of flying that may interest you, companies you might work for, location(s), career progress over time, probable salary levels, etc.)
  • Copies of acquired aviation related certificates and/or licences (if applicable)
  • A copy of the latest entries in your pilot logbook (if applicable)
  • Evidence of at least 0.5 hours of flight training (Intro Flight meets this requirement).
    • Introductory Flights are available for purchase online here or by contacting Humphrey’s Pilot Shop at 905-838-1400 ext. 214. Can be conducted at other flight schools.
  • A copy of the IELTS (Academic) score of 7 in each band or higher for International students
  • All items are to be submitted in English.

3) Interview and quiz with Brampton Flight College staff following submission of your application package. Should all seats be filled applicants will be notified.

  • Candidates will be contacted by the Campus Administrator to schedule entrance quiz and interview following online application submission

Application

The next course will commence Thursday July 2, 2026. Admission process is open between January 2, 2026, until 11:59 PM on March 15, 2026.  All applicants will be advised by April 30, 2026, the outcome of their application and interview.

Prior Flight Experience

We do not require any accepted students to have prior flight experience however for those that do, the Brampton Flight College will consider credits for flight time assuming currency and applicability to the Program up to a maximum of 100 hours. Be sure to include a copy of your latest logbook pages with your application if you have flying experience.
