Cancellation Policy

Far too often pilots have bookings that are left unfilled on good weather days, because dispatch has not been notified that the pilot will not be using the booking. As BFC has many pilots eager to make use of our aircraft, we have a No Show and Cancellation Policy. This policy is to help ensure that unused bookings are made available to other students/renters who need them and helps to compensate Flight Instructors for their lost time.

48-Hour Notice is required for cancelling aircraft for reasons other than weather.

$50 per booked hour for Aircraft Cancellation or No Show

$70 per booked hour for Instructor Cancellation or No Show

Please note that if you fail to cancel at least 48-hours prior to both instructor and aircraft bookings, both fees will apply.

  1. Cancellations within the 48-hr window ahead of a booking for dual flights may only be made in consultation with your instructor.
  2. BFC has the option to remove some or all of a person’s bookings for the next 60 days if that person has 3 No Shows or cancellations filed against them so as to open up slots to those students and renters who really want to fly with us.
  3. Accepting cancellations due to weather will be up to the CFI but in general, a weather cancellation more than 2 hr in advance of the start of the booking may be subject to a cancellation fee if the weather improves sufficiently to allow the intended flight at the time of the booking.

The final decision will be at the discretion of the Chief Flying Instructor.  Cancellation and No Show fees will be deducted from your credit card on file when the fee has been assessed.  Should you wish to dispute a Cancellation or No Show fee and have the charge reversed on your credit card, please contact the CFI within 7 days with your reasons why the fee should not have been charged. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Late for your booked time? Please be advised that if you are late more than 15 minutes for your booked aircraft, it may be reassigned to someone else.
